Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is recognized in schools across the United States October 23-October 30th  to raise awareness about the importance of living a drug-free life and making healthy, safe choices.  Kennett Middle School will be recognizing this week as an opportunity for schools, families, and communities to work together to educate students about the risks of substance use and encourage positive decision-making.

Middle school is a time when students are developing their independence, navigating peer pressure, building friendships, and forming habits that can influence their future. This week is a great time to have conversations with your student about the importance of making responsible choices, resisting pressure to experiment with harmful substances, and understanding that their health and well-being matter.

We will have daily announcements giving information about making positive choices and living a healthy lifestyle.  There will be an informational table set up at lunch for students to look at and we will come together on Tuesday the 27th by wearing Red to show our commitment to healthy lifestyles and choices.

Family Night

8th Grade Family Night

KHS is excited to host our first event for this year's eighth grade class, the Class of 2031. They want to offer eighth graders and their families a chance to come and tour the school, meet the staff that will work with you, and see what great clubs and co-curriculars are available to you at KHS! Thye hope all families and students are able to attend!

Music Boosters

🎶 KMS Music Boosters Meeting

Thursday, October 29 | 6:00 PM
Location: KMS Band Room

Our KMS Music Boosters are off to a great start, and we’d love to welcome more parents to the team!

Our big goal this year is to raise enough money to send our students to the Great East Music Festival in June without families having to pay out of pocket. With your help, we can make this opportunity possible for our students!

There are plenty of ways to get involved, and you don’t have to make a big time commitment to make a difference. Whether you can help at an event, lend a hand with a fundraiser, or share your ideas, every contribution counts.

Join us at our next meeting to learn more about our plans and discover how you can help support our KMS musicians.

Many hands make light work! We hope to see you there!
Halloween

🎃 Halloween Costume Day at KMS 👻

Get ready for some Halloween fun! Students are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 30th! To ensure a safe and enjoyable day for all, please review the following costume guidelines:
  • No guts, gore, or weapons of any kind, including toy weapons.
  • No full-face makeup or masks.
  • All costumes must follow the SAU9 Personal Appearance Policy.
We look forward to seeing everyone's creativity! 🦅🎃

Winter Sports

Winter Sports Registration Now Open

Winter Sports Registration is now open.  Kennett Middle School will offer boys' and girls' basketball and alpine ski racing.
If your student plans to participate in sports at Kennett Middle School this winter, please complete their FinalForms registration as soon as possible.
November 9th is a firm deadline. All student-athletes must have their FinalForms account completed, including all required forms and a current sports physical uploaded. Please note: We will not accept physicals by fax. Families are responsible for uploading the physical directly to their student's FinalForms profile.
Thank you for helping us prepare for the upcoming sports season.
Open Gym

Girls Basketball Open Gym

Coach Dave Caputo will be hosting an optional open gym for any girls interested in playing basketball on Tuesday, October 27th, from 4:30–6:00 p.m. The open gym will take place at the Rec Gym (Marshall Gym). If your child cannot make it, that's completely fine; there will be other opportunities next week.

Please be aware that there will be no late bus available, so all players must have a parent/guardian pick them up promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Important:  All players must arrive no later than 4:20 p.m. The rec doors will be locked at 4:30 p.m., and no one will be available to let late arrivals into the building. Please plan accordingly!

NH Funding Presentation

This fall, the New Hampshire School Funding Fairness Project is taking our School Funding + Property Taxes Tour to all 10 New Hampshire counties, and we're excited to bring the conversation to Carroll County in partnership with the Conway School District.

After-School Athletic Event Supervision

We want all of our students to be able to enjoy and support our KMS athletic teams! Please remember that students who stay after school to attend an athletic event must be supervised by a responsible adult.
Students may not remain on school grounds after the school day without adult supervision.
Any student found on campus after school without a responsible adult will be asked to call home and make arrangements to be picked up.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and ensuring that after-school activities remain a positive experience for everyone!
