Attendance Matters

As we settle into the school year, we want to take a moment to highlight the importance of regular school attendance and being on time each day. Consistent attendance helps students stay connected with their learning, build strong relationships with teachers and peers, and feel confident as they progress through the year. Arriving on time sets a positive tone for the day and allows students to fully participate in all classroom activities.

We understand that occasional absences and tardiness are sometimes unavoidable, but we encourage you to make every effort to have your child in school and on time each day. Your support makes a big difference in helping students develop responsibility and get the most out of their school experience.

Important Nurse Update

As we begin the school year, we want families to be aware that KMS does not currently have a school nurse. Students will report to the Main Office for minor illnesses or injuries. For more significant health concerns or emergencies, we will follow our established procedures and contact families and/or emergency medical services as appropriate.

Please take a moment to review and update your child’s health information, emergency contacts, medications, and other important information in PowerSchool. Having accurate and up-to-date information is especially important as we work to ensure we can respond appropriately to student health needs.

PTO Meeting

A great way to get involved with our school is to join the PTO! Their first meeting of the school year is Thurdday, Sept 17th @ Tuckerman's Brewery @ 6:30pm. We are in a rebuilding year and are looking to develop a passionate and dedicated group of volunteers that put on fun events and fundraisers. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Aly McAllister at a_mcallister@sau9.org.

Welcome to KMS Drama Club & Show Choir!

We are so excited to start a Drama Club and Show Choir at KMS this year! These groups are open to students who love performing, want to try something new, or are just looking for a fun and creative way to get involved at school.

Drama Club gives students the chance to act, sing, dance, work backstage, and come together to put on a full production. We are VERY excited to announce that our first KMS Drama Club production will be Disney’s Descendants this February!

Show Choir combines singing and movement, giving students the opportunity to perform fun music as an ensemble while building confidence, musicianship, and performance skills.

Right now, we are trying to get an idea of how many students are interested! Please fill out the Google Form if your student might be interested in Drama Club, Show Choir, or both. Filling out the form does not commit your student, it just helps us start planning for an exciting first year!

We can’t wait to create something amazing with our KMS students!

After-School Athletic Event Supervision

We want all of our students to be able to enjoy and support our KMS athletic teams! Please remember that students who stay after school to attend an athletic event must be supervised by a responsible adult.

Students may not remain on school grounds after the school day without adult supervision.

Any student found on campus after school without a responsible adult will be asked to call home and make arrangements to be picked up.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and ensuring that after-school activities remain a positive experience for everyone!
