Dear Families,
Just a quick heads up as we prepare for the Louis Fuchs Concert on March 31 @ 6:30—I wanted to share a few important details.
Concert Participation
Band is a performance-based class, and students will have opportunities in the coming days to demonstrate their readiness by playing a short excerpt from one of our concert pieces. This should be very manageable, as we have been working on this music for over four months.
Students are expected to be able to perform their part with reasonable accuracy and consistency.
- Students who are prepared will perform in the concert
- Students who are not yet ready will participate in a supportive role (setup, logistics, etc.)
Rehearsal Schedule (March 31 | 10:00 AM – 12:45 PM)
- 10:00–10:55 – Full band rehearsal
- 11:00–11:30 – Lunch & HS rehearsals
- 11:30–12:35 – Dress rehearsal (all groups + final piece)
Lunch
Students should bring a lunch or request a bag lunch from the cafeteria.
We will take a count in advance of students who need a bag lunch. Lunch will be at 11:00 AM.
Evening Concert
Students should arrive at 6:00 PM in dressy attire.
Personal items will be stored in the band/chorus room.
