From the Nurse's Office

It’s a great time to remind your children of some simple hygiene habits to help them stay clean and healthy!

  • Handwashing
  • Brushing your teeth
  • Showering
  • Wearing clean clothes
  • Getting at least 8 hours of sleep
  • Eating a balanced diet

Mayo Clinic recommends teaching children frequent and proper hand-washing, covering coughs and sneezes, avoiding sharing personal items, and maintaining good oral hygiene. They also advise staying up-to-date on vaccinations and keeping sick children home to prevent the spread of illness. For hand-washing, children should use soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds—or the length of two "Happy Birthday" songs—paying attention to all surfaces of the hands, and they should dry them thoroughly.

Angles and Elves

Thinking About Applying to Angels & Elves? Read This.

Every year, we hear from parents and caregivers who tell us they almost didn’t apply—not because they didn’t need help, but because they were worried about pride, privacy, or being recognized.

If that sounds like you, please know this:

We’re here to give a hand up, not a handout.

Life gets hard. Jobs change, medical bills pile up, rent goes up, cars break down. Needing help does not define you.

And someday, when life steadies again, many families choose to pay it forward—and that’s exactly how this community keeps going strong.

Your information is 100% confidential.

Sponsors never see your full name, address, or school.
They only receive:
• Your child’s first name
• Age
• Their needs/wants/hobbies/sizes

If you’re worried that your child might be recognized because of a unique name or personal situation, just let us know. We will fulfill your application internally instead of giving it to a sponsor — and only our Head Elf and her assistant will ever know your family’s story or identity.

We always match sponsors with kids in different schools than their own children.

This eliminates the chance of anyone recognizing a classmate’s wish list.

You are not alone.

Hundreds of families apply every year. Many are working two or three jobs. Many are great parents doing everything they can. Many never expected to need help—but life happens.

If you’re on the fence, please know: you deserve support just as much as anyone else.

Your children deserve a joyful Christmas. And your community is ready to stand behind you—quietly, respectfully, and with zero judgment.

The application deadline is December 5th.
We only ask for a copy of your ID, proof of residency and evidence that your child attends a local school, we do not require your financial information.
