World Kindness Day

World Kindness Day - November 13th

November marks the start of the holiday season, and what better way to celebrate than by spreading kindness? Throughout the month, we’ll be focusing on acts of kindness both at school and within our community—living out our motto, “Work Hard, Be Kind.”

The picture above shows how our KMS community becomes the “I” in KIND. Students and staff came together to have their photos taken, helping create the “I” for our KIND wall—a visual reminder of the impact we make when we stand together.

From the Nurse's Office

It’s a great time to remind your children of some simple hygiene habits to help them stay clean and healthy!

  • Handwashing
  • Brushing your teeth
  • Showering
  • Wearing clean clothes
  • Getting at least 8 hours of sleep
  • Eating a balanced diet

Mayo Clinic recommends teaching children frequent and proper hand-washing, covering coughs and sneezes, avoiding sharing personal items, and maintaining good oral hygiene. They also advise staying up-to-date on vaccinations and keeping sick children home to prevent the spread of illness. For hand-washing, children should use soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds—or the length of two "Happy Birthday" songs—paying attention to all surfaces of the hands, and they should dry them thoroughly.
